Shen Gongbao is a character from the classic Ming Dynasty novel 'Fengshen Yanyi'. A disciple of Yuanshi Tianzun, master of Mount Kunlun and one of the highest deities in religious Taoism, Shen Gongbao was renowed for his communication skills, as well as his magic arts in general.<br/><br/> Shen Gongbao considered Jiang Ziya, fellow apprentice to Yuanshi Tianzun, as his rival and enemy, and assisted the tyrannical King Zhou of Shang. He was appointed as General of the East Sea, and fought against Jiang Ziya multiple times, before eventually being arrested by his old master Yuanshi Tianzun.
